Gears of War: E-Day Horde Siege modes and classes

Understand Blitz, Siege and Horde missions, the four launch classes, Energy and turret rules.

Applies to: Launch Horde Siege · mechanics may change in seasonal patches

The short answer

Horde Siege has Blitz, Siege and Horde mission playlists. The four launch classes are Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic. Squads earn Energy for supplies and can purchase or upgrade turret installations at designated positions.

Which Horde Siege mission should you choose?

The Coalition describes three launch playlists. Blitz has one or two objectives and is usually about 15–20 minutes. Siege has multiple objectives and usually takes 20–40 minutes. Horde concentrates on a defended position across ten waves and can run about 50–60 minutes. These are developer estimates, not match timers; difficulty and squad pace can change them.

AssaultFlexible midrange defenseSonic Disruptor
BreacherClose-range frontline pushAdrenaline Injector
MarksmanPrecision and enemy markingPulse Drone
MedicHealing and revivesStim Vaporizer

The developer says squads can combine these classes freely. This is a role comparison, not a claim that one class is objectively best. Seasonal updates may add or change classes.

How do Energy and turrets work?

Objectives and defeated enemies contribute to a shared Energy pool. At Supply Caches, players can buy equipment, weapons and squad upgrades. The official multiplayer guide also says Energy can purchase or upgrade turret installations at specific defensive positions, and some turrets can be detached as heavy weapons.

Can you refill turret ammunition?

The official explanation we found does not give a universal turret-refill button or cost. Player discussions mix fixed installations, detached weapons and campaign turrets, so applying one answer to all three would be unreliable. Check the interaction prompt on the particular turret and the game's current patch notes; we will add a precise procedure only after it is reproducible for a named turret and mode.
