Planet Zoo 2 multiplayer, co-op and cross-platform features
Separate single-player zoo building from Franchise trading and cross-platform Workshop sharing.
Applies to: Launch game modes and online features
The short answer
Planet Zoo 2 does not offer live multiplayer or co-op zoo building. Its connected features are Franchise animal trading and Frontier Workshop sharing, including browsing and downloading creations across platforms.

No live co-op
Official store categories present Planet Zoo 2 as a single-player game. There is no confirmed mode where two players simultaneously build or manage the same zoo, so “co-op” should not be used to describe Workshop sharing.
Franchise connection
Franchise mode connects players through its animal market and progression systems. That online economy can depend on player supply and service availability, but each player manages their own zoo.
Cross-platform sharing
Frontier Workshop lets players browse, subscribe to and place shared creations across platforms. It is asynchronous sharing, not live multiplayer. See the Workshop guide for the boundary between blueprints and third-party mods.
What each connected feature actually does
| Feature | Other players involved? | Live co-op? |
|---|---|---|
| Franchise animal market | Listings and supply come from players | No |
| Frontier Workshop | Download shared creations | No |
| Single-player zoo modes | No shared session | No |
Cross-platform does not mean crossplay
“Cross-platform Workshop” describes sharing creations between platform communities. It does not create a shared live zoo, party system or split-screen mode. Search results often collapse these ideas into the word “crossplay,” so check the named feature.
What would change this answer
A future co-op claim needs a Frontier announcement and an updated store category describing live multiplayer. Player-made blueprints or an online market do not by themselves change the single-player status.
