Storage and Windows

Steam lists 40 GB available space. The minimum OS is 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and an SSD is recommended; the recommended tier lists Windows 11 and requires an SSD. Native macOS and Linux support are not shown.

What specs do not promise

Meeting minimum requirements means the hardware is within Frontier's supported floor, not that every large zoo will hold a fixed frame rate. Animal count, guest count, resolution, scenery density, drivers and background software can all affect performance.

How to compare a PC correctly

  1. Identify the exact CPU and GPU model, not only the brand or memory amount.
  2. Check dedicated GPU memory separately from system RAM.
  3. Confirm that Windows is 64-bit and DirectX 12 is available.
  4. Leave more than 40 GB free so updates and temporary files have room.
  5. Use an SSD for the recommended configuration.

Steam Deck status

Steam's compatibility data currently marks the game Verified, states that default controller functions and icons work, and notes that first-time setup needs an active internet connection. This status belongs to the tested build and can be reassessed after updates.

Upgrade priority

A machine below 16 GB RAM or the listed GPU floor is outside the official minimum. For a machine already within range, driver condition, resolution and zoo complexity should be checked before assuming a hardware purchase is necessary.
