How long is The Last of Us Part I?

Estimate main-story, exploratory and completionist time, with Left Behind listed separately.

Applies to: Part I main story and Left Behind · individual times vary

The short answer

Plan roughly 14–16 hours for a first main-story run, longer if you explore for collectibles, and about two to three additional hours for Left Behind. Difficulty, accessibility options, stealth and collectible cleanup can move those totals substantially.

Practical estimates

Published player-time databases and current guides cluster the main story around 14–16 hours. Exploring optional rooms and reading artifacts usually adds several hours; trophy and collectible cleanup can take roughly 22–25 hours or more.

Why your time differs

Stealth retries, difficulty, accessibility assists, cutscene viewing and searching every building matter more than the PS5/PC platform difference. Treat any single number as a planning range, not a timer.

Left Behind

Allow about two to three hours for a first run. It is listed separately because Part I includes it as its own menu chapter.
